How To Use

Horsetail is a traditional herbal tonic prized for its high silica content, often used to support hair, skin, and nail health. It has a very mild, slightly grassy, and earthy flavor.

Brewing Method:

  1. Boil Water: Bring fresh, filtered water to a boil (approximately 212°F / 100°C).
  2. Measure Herb: Use 1–2 teaspoons of dried horsetail per 8 oz cup of water.
  3. Steep: Pour the hot water over the herb. Cover and let steep for 10–15 minutes. For a stronger mineral extraction, you may gently simmer (decoct) the herb for 10 minutes instead.
  4. Strain & Enjoy: Strain the herbs and sip warm.
  • Optional Tip: Horsetail can also be used as a beneficial hair rinse or added to a warm bath for a mineral-rich soak.
  • Storage: Store in a cool, dry, dark place in a sealed container.
  • Safety: Do not use for more than two weeks in a row without a one-week break, as it can be taxing on the kidneys. Consult a healthcare practitioner if you have kidney disease, are pregnant, or are nursing.
