Devil’s Claw (Harpagophytum procumbens), a member of the Pedaliaceae (sesame) family, is a leafy perennial shrub native to the Kalahari Desert and the steppes of Southern Africa. Its unique name is derived from the miniature, hook-like fruit that attaches to the fur of passing animals to disperse its seeds. Brewing Method

  • Boil Water: Bring fresh, filtered water to a boil (about 205–212°F / 96–100°C).
  • Measure Tea: Use 1–2 teaspoons of the dried root per 8 oz cup of water.
  • Steep: Pour hot water over the root. Cover and let steep for 5–10 minutes (depending on desired strength).
  • Strain & Enjoy: Strain herbs and sip warm. Add honey, lemon, or sweetener if desired.

Optional Tips:
For deeper flavor or stronger herbal benefits, steep longer (up to 15 minutes). Because of its bitter taste, it blends well with other herbs like Ginger or Licorice Root.
