- "Chaparral, often called the Creosote Bush, is pure desert medicine. The strong, resinous scent—like a desert storm—tells you instantly how potent its medicine is. I strictly view it as a premier external antiseptic."
- "What makes it invaluable in a first aid kit is its concentrated power. A strong infusion or oil works wonders on stubborn fungal issues, slow-healing wounds, or cuts that need serious protection."
- "Due to known hepatotoxicity, I strictly reserve this plant for topical use as a wash, poultice, or in salves. It's a reminder that some of the most powerful allies must be approached with the utmost respect and caution."
