So let’s face it, curves are in. Unless you have been living under a rock, there’s no denying the curves and big booty craze. Yes, it really is a craze. Celebrities like Kim Kardashian, Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez and Nicki Minaj are all stealing the limelight because of their luscious curves and bootylicious bodies.

As a result of all these hype, people are trying to cash in. There are all types of curve enhancing pills, fad diets, shapers and you name it flooding the market. In fact, it is so crazy, so many women are going to crazy lengths to enhance their curves.

Even as far as injecting themselves with dangerous chemicals to enhance these curves. Just look up butt injections, and there are stories after stories of horror stories from women and men who get this done only to end up with terrible infections, disfigured bodies and even worse, DEATH.

There are plastic surgery procedures out there like butt implants, liposuction, Brazilian butt lift, fat injections and the list goes on that some women resort to for dangerous curves. However, these procedures are expensive, there is a slew of risks involved such as disfigurement, reaction to anaesthesia and even death and frankly these procedures are not necessary to attain a curvaceous body. There is also the risk that you can invest all the money for these procedures and not attain any results. Or worse can end up with an overturned implant. Yikes!

The truth of the matter is that these procedures might produce results in the short term but in the long run it can create more problems.

For example, a common procedure known as Brazilian butt lift is being undergone by many women and celebrities to get curves. The procedure involves liposuctioning fat out of undesired areas like the stomach, back and thighs and transferring it to hips and butt.

While that sounds great. Here’s what can happen and the potential long term effects of liposuction. Your body has a certain amount of fat cells. If you take them out of a particular area, they are gone and do not grow back. In the short term that is great as you have a flat tummy. However, what happens over time is that your body still needs a place to store fat, so with no fat cells in your tummy, it transports to other fat cells in the body or existing fat cells can grow bigger and produce an undesirable lumpy, lopsided look.

Something else that is more dangerous is that your body might start to redirect fat to internal fat cells. Your stomach area has to levels of fat cells. The subcontenous fat and visceral fat. Suncontenous fat is outer layer fat cells, what we feel when we grab our stomach fat. Visceral fat on the other hand is deep belly fat that surrounds our organs. This fat you cannot feel and touch.

Liposuction is only able to remove outer layer fat, or subcontenous fat. Currently there is no liposuction that can remove visceral fat as it too close to our organs and that is very dangerous.

What could happen in some women when subscontenous fat is removed is the body will start to redirect fat storage to the still intact internal fat cells or visceral fat. And this is bad! In the long term this can lead to an increased risk of heart disease, diabetes and a slew of other problems.

In addition, I am a firm believer that you can only fool mother nature for so long. If your body was designed to store fat in certain areas of your body, it will continue to do so.

That is why I believe these procedures are not necessary. However it is possible to get the body of your dreams. With the right combination of foods, diet, supplements and workout regimen you can tone up in the right places, lose belly fat and get defined curves. While I believe that curves are beautiful, I also think it is important to have a toned physique. This will help to accentuate the curves and gives the body a shapely silhouette.

If you look at curvy celebrity icons like Nicole Murphy, Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez or Serena Williams, one thing they all have in common is that the contours of their curves are well defined. They have a combination of well toned arms, flat stomach, toned thighs, legs, back and round, lifted butts.

This combination of traits will come from a program that we have designed which combines light waist training and disciplined workout regimen consisting of cardio and strength training and light weight lifting. To understand how to get curves, we have to go back to the basics and understand how our bodies work. We’ll be taking a trip back to memory lane. Remember human anatomy 101?

Although curves are now the latest thing, they have been the staple of a woman’s beauty for centuries. Look at paintings, caricatures, portraits and images of beautiful throughout times and you’ll notice a similar pattern. Round breasts, small, dipped in waist, round hips and a round bottom. All these different attributes have functional purposes in a woman. They are essentially signs of a healthy, fertile woman and attract the opposite sex.

The matter of fact is women are reproductive beings and our bodies are designed to produce children. Our bodies produce hormones that enables us to do so. And these combination of hormones are what produces the common hourglass shape in a woman. Remember hormones essentially tell our bodies what to do even what shape our bodies will transform to during and after puberty.

The hormone that is responsible to giving us our womanly figure is the estrogen hormone. It is the quintessential female hormone and it has a significant impact on the shape of a woman’s and even man’s body. Yes, body men and women make similar hormones. The difference is that women produce more of certain hormones like estrogen and progesterone while men produce more testosterone.

Estrogens can also affect the female body shape in a number of other ways, including increasing fat stores, acceleratingmetabolism, reducing muscle mass, and increasing bone formation.

Estrogens cause higher levels of fat to be stored in a female body than in a male body.[4][5] They also affect body fat distribution,[6] causing fat to be stored in the buttocksthighs, and hips in women,[7][8] but generally not around their waists, which will remain about the same size as they were before puberty. The hormones produced by the thyroid gland regulate therate of metabolism, controlling how quickly the body uses energy, and controls how sensitive the body should be to other hormones. Body fat distribution may change from time to time, depending on food habits, activity levels and hormone levels.

When women reach menopause and the estrogen produced by ovaries declines, fat migrates from their buttocks, hips and thighs to their waists;[9] later fat is stored at the abdomen.[10]

Body fat percentage recommendations are higher for females, as this fat may serve as an energy reserve for pregnancy. Males have less subcutaneous fat in their faces due to the effects of testosterone;[11] testosterone also reduces fat by aiding fastmetabolism. The lack of estrogen in males generally results in more fat deposit around waists and abdomens (producing an “apple shape”).

Understanding these basic hormone concepts is important to understanding how to enhance your natural curves.

For some women that suffer from androgen excess hormonal imbalance where their body produces higher levels of androgen and not enough estrogen, this can lead to fat distribution to areas like chest, waist and belly. That is often why transgender men are given estrogen hormone pills which softens their features overtime and gives them curvy, feminine features.

However, it is not enough to just pump the body with estrogen, and that can even be dangerous. Too much estrogen can lead to problems in women such as increased risk for breast cancer, fibroids and even ovarian cancer.

The goal is to strive for balance. To have harmonious hormonal levels so that your body can function appropriately. As it was designed to function.
